***Important – Announcing a three-month ACA special enrollment period Feb. 15 to May 15, 2021***
The ACA Marketplace is reopening for Special Enrollment from February 15 – May 15, 2021. This is due to President Biden signing an executive order directing the US Department of Health and Human Services to temporarily re-open the federal ACA marketplace for a 3-month enrollment period from Feb. 15 to May 15 as part of a COVID-19 pandemic response.

Health Care Reform
For plan years through 2018, if you can afford health insurance but choose not to buy it, you may pay a fee called the individual Shared Responsibility Payment when you file your federal taxes. (The fee is sometimes called the "penalty," "fine," or "individual mandate.") Starting with the 2019 plan year, the Shared Responsibility Payment no longer applies. No health insurance?
